I learned a lot of helpful 21st century skills while completing the build a lfe task. To start with, I learned how expensive life really is without your parents paying for everything, as well as how expensive college and housing is. I found this project valuable because while I was somewhat aware what the challenges of moving out were, this project showed me just how many ways you spend money. There wasn't really the option to live with someone or any alternatives to paying for everything which I thought was a little unrealistic. I think the expenses I was most surprised by were insurance, the rates are insane and it just seemed very expensive. I do not pay any bills at the moment. My starting salary choosing an accountant was 80,000 and after every expense I was left with around 500 dollars a month. I applied several 21st century skills by not only learning more financial literacy but different states and their economic behavior as well.
